Ken W. Matthew, 86 of Fulton, died Friday, January 06, 2017 at Mercy Living Center North in Clinton.

Ken was born on June 17, 1930 in Clinton, the son of William and Marie (Hyer) Matthew. He was a United States Navy Veteran. He married Joan R. Balk on July 8, 1950 in Fulton. Ken worked for millwright union 2158 in Bettendorf, IA, retiring in 1992. He was a former volunteer fireman for the Fulton Fire Department and a former Cub Scouts leader when his son was younger. Ken was a member of the Fulton City Masonic Lodge AF and AM #189 and a past Master. He was also a member of the Second Reformed Church in Fulton.

Survivors include his wife, Joan of Fulton; one daughter, Kathy Quick of Fulton; one son, Scott (Lori) Matthew of Clinton; two sisters, Dorothy Keperling of Sterling and Joanne (Gaylen) Larson of Barrington, IL; four grandchildren, Jessica (Cameron) Klendworth, Meghan Quick, Sheridan Quick and Katelyn Matthew; three great grandchildren, Ayden and Jackson Klendworth and Clara Ditzler.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Virginia Irwin.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Fulton with a Masonic Lodge service at 7:00 P.M. Memorial service will be on Tuesday, January 10th at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Stephen officiating.
