Obituary Louis Lund:
Louis C. "Uddie" Lund, 83, of Clinton, died Tuesday at his home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig-Dennis A. Lemke Funeral Homes and Crematory with Bill Michaelsen officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post 28. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Trevor Lund, Christopher Lund, Alan Loeffelholz, Eric Edfors, Dick McCrea and Don Obermiller. He was born May 23, 1919, in Clinton to Louis and Mary Huebner Lund. He married Clema "Mickey" Alvey on Nov. 19, 1943 in Las Vegas, Nev. She died in 1992. He attended Clinton schools. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a firefighter with the Clinton Fire Department. He joined the department in 1947. He was promoted to lieutenant in 1960 and to captain in 1972. He retired in 1980. He was a member of the VFW, the Green Forrest Campers and active with the baseball leagues in Clinton. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Carol (Joe) Watters of Charlotte and Mrs. Connie (Rich) Lavens of Viola, Ill.; one son Michael (Helen) Lund of Bettendorf; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister Karen Loeffelholz of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a granddaughter and three brothers. Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church or the Clinton Fire Department.
