Martha M. Litty, 74, DeWitt, Iowa, died Thursday morning, August 28, 2003 at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport.

Martha Marie Cahill was born in Clinton, Iowa on September 25, 1928 to Frank and Frieda (Brockmiller) Cahill. She resided in DeWitt much of her life where she worked for the former Donnelly Calendar Factory. She married William "Bill" Litty on October 7, 1951, and he preceded her in death on June 7, 1988.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, and enjoyed rides, socializing with people and working crossword puzzles.

Surviving are two daughters, Judy Bruckman, Calamus, and Shirley (Glen) Marten, Davenport; four grandchildren, Angi (Scott) Knudtson, Wheatland; Brian (Kelli) Bruckman, Solon; Joe Bruckman, Calamus; Teri Giloy, Davenport; eight great-grandchildren, Brandan Knudtson, Courtney Knudtson, Cassandra Knudtson, Jade Bruckman, Ryan Bruckman, Dillon Bruckman, Matthew Bruckman, JeriAnna Bruckman; three brothers, Jack (Pat) Cahill, Delmar; Pete (Jan) Cahill and Jim Cahill, Davenport; two sisters, Mary (Bill) Luckey, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; and Cheryl (Jerald) Ezard, Davenport; a sister-in-law, Ellen Litty, DeWitt; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Richard Bruckman and a grandson.

Family and friends may visit at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2003. Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home. The Rev. Fr. H. Robert Harness officiating. Interment at Rock Island National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Peter Cahill, Jim Cahill, Jack Cahill, Bill Luckey, Brian Bruckman, Joe Bruckman, Sam Luckey, and Scott Knudtson.
