Albert C. Carter age 88 of Maquoketa, passed away Wednesday Dec. 14, 2016 at his home. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday Dec. 16th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday 10:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. Albert was born on March 15, 1928 in Davenport, IA, the son of Warren and Mary (Suiter) Carter. He graduated from Goose Lake High School in 1945. He served in the US Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean Conflict. He married Luella Milder on Nov. 21, 1948 in Clinton, she died in 2004. He farmed most of his life near Baldwin, Iowa and had worked for Clinton Engines in Maquoketa. He enjoyed his music, playing in several bands, where he was lead singer and played his accordion. He loved to dance, he loved all animals, and bowled 3-4 times each week.

Albert is survived by his sister, Violet Manning-Bopes of Clinton; two sister-in-laws and two brother-in-laws; several nieces and nephews; his special friend, Ilo Starry of Maquoketa and her daughter, Barb (Bob) Roe, whom were very helpful in his last days. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and five sisters.
