CHADWICK, IL - Garian E. Cox, 84 of rural Chadwick died Monday December 12, 2016 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.
He was born on Viroqua, WI the son of Clarence and Mildred (Sidie) Cox. He married Berta Dunham October 16, 1954 in Sabula, IA. Garian was employed at the former Northwestern Steel and Wire Co in Sterling plant 4 in the electric weld for over 31 years. He was a member of Milledgeville Brethren Church and served in the past as custodian and maintenance caretaker. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and working in the outdoors.
Surviving is his wife, Berta; four sons: Mike Cox, Mitchell Cox and Monte Cox (Deb Snapp) all of Milledgeville and Matthew (Maggie) Cox of Polo; his brothers: Fantus (Betty) Cox of Jonesdale, WI and Arleigh Cox of Nancy, KY; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Michele Kingery; a sister Cleone Freas; a brother Verlyn Cox and a grand daughter, Tessa.
Visitation will be held on Saturday December 17, 2016 from 9 - 11 AM at the Milledgeville Brethren Church. The funeral will follow at 11 AM in the church with Pastor Jim Black officiating. Burial will conclude at Dutchtown Cemetery. Arrangements by McDonald Funeral Home, Milledgeville.
