Walter E. Chase, age 80, of Clinton passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday 11:00 AM until the service hour at the Pape Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. Walter was born in Clinton on August 1, 1936, the son of Charles N. and Hannah (Hinz) Chase. He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Walter married Jolene C. Stoltenberg on October 9, 1957 in Clinton; Jolene passed away in 2001. Walter was a supervisor at Central Steel for 22 years. He later was employed at Rose's Wood Products for 10 years, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed fishing, watching TV, and his animals.

Walter is survived by two sons; David Chase of Clinton and Donald (Jen) Chase of Clinton; a daughter, Deborah (James) Lawrence of Wolf City, TX; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife - Jolene, a son - Daniel, a daughter - Diana, 3 sisters, and a brother.
