JoEllen Hill, 63, of Albany, Illinois, passed away Wednesday at her home, surrounded by her family. JoEllen donated her body to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics for research, in hopes of helping other families. A celebration of JoEllen’s life is being planned. JoEllen was born March 11, 1953 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of John Thomas and Alice Rose (Hatfield) Killean II. She married Steven Bruce Hill on May 28, 1985 in Albany, Illinois.

She was employed as an orthodontics assistant for Dr. David Schrody for many years, retiring in 2008.

JoEllen liked birds, especially owls and eagles; she enjoyed fishing, gardening, drawing, music and Sudoku. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

She is survived by husband, Steven of Albany; children, Kimberly (Aaron McCartney) Hill of Albany; Kristen (Kevin) Pearcy of Clinton, Iowa and Jason Jones of Clinton, Iowa; grandchildren, Mia Ellen Pearcy and Evan Luke Pearcy; siblings; Carol (Keith) Skiff of Clinton, Iowa; John (Vickie) Killean III of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Sonya (Arlo) Hendrickson of Tyler, Texas; her sister-in-law, Diane Green of Fulton, Illinois and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Dr. Richard Cooper, grandson, Luke Pearcy and brother, Chris Killean.
