Mary Ann Hallinan, 75, of Clinton, passed away, Monday, November 21, 2016 at Mercy Living Center – South.

A Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am, Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus. Visitation will be from 10:00am to the mass time, Thursday at the church with a rosary at 10:30am. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Ann Hallinan was born on April 8, 1941 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Richard and Helen (Houghton) Hallinan. She was a 1959 graduate of St. Mary’s High School, and later graduated from Saint Ambrose School of Nursing in 1963.

Mary Ann was a registered nurse at Mercy for 35 years retiring in 2003. She served as the 3-11 house supervisor and Assistant Director of Nursing during her career at Mercy. She was also a nurse at the Alverno for several years.

Mary Ann was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, served on the St. Mary’s Cemetery board from 2000-2008, former St. Mary’s Parish Council, Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, and the Prince of Peace Auxiliary. She was formerly active in the national and state nursing associations serving as state secretary for many years.

Mary Ann is survived by her sister-in-law: Ruby Hallinan of Keokuk a special daughter: Debbie Samuelson of Lakewood, California, and her god son: Jamie Samuelson of Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Leo in 2010, and her sister Fran in 2014.

Memorials can be made to Mercy Medical Center or Prince of Peace Parish.
