Alma Ruth Hale, 81, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away Monday, November 14, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport. Private services will be held at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, November 17, 2016. Burial will be at the Savanna Township Cemetery, Savanna, Illinois. Alma Brandt was born February 6, 1935 in Fulton, Illinois, the daughter of Edward and Hanna Paulina (Groezinger) Brandt. She married David Bruce Hale on August 5, 1961 at the little brown church in Nashua, Iowa; he died in 1981.

She had been employed as a home healthcare provider for more than 19 years, retiring in 2009.

Alma is survived by her children, Charles (Kathy) Funk of Thomson, Illinois; Michael (Margret) Funk of Davenport, Iowa; Robert (Gina) Hale of Mt. Carroll, Illinois; Ronald (Thomas Tillberg) Hale of Bettendorf, Iowa and Barbara (Gary Nickell) Johnson of Clinton, Iowa; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Merry) Brandt of Rockford, Illinois and special friend, Don Schriner of Mt. Carroll, Illinois.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Steven Hale, three sisters, five brothers and her parents.
