Kenneth L. “Sarge” Dusenberry, 72, of Camanche passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at his home – Camanche.

Memorial Services will be 4:00 pm, Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until the service hour at the funeral home. A celebration in honor of Ken’s life will take place at the Poor House Tap – Camanche after the service.

Kenneth Lawrence Dusenberry was born August 14, 1944 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Hank and Bernice (Schlapkohl) Dusenberry. He was a 1962 graduate of Durant high School. He served in the United States Navy and the United States Army collectively for 28 years. He married Gloria Borowicz on August 1, 1964. He later married the love of his life, Donna Carroll on December 12, 1991; she preceded him in death on December 21, 1999.

He worked for Chicago Northwestern, ADM and Pekin Energy as a Journeyman Electrician. He loved his Hamm’s Beer and collected all different kinds of Hamm’s memorabilia and he also loved researching and collecting Native American artifacts. Ken enjoyed being outside, a good bonfire with friends and family, making his rounds to his favorite bars to gamble on football and NASCAR, and visiting with his favorite bartenders and all the friends who meant so much to him.

He is survived by his three sons: Donald Dusenberry of Michigan, Jeffrey (Peter Rivard) Dusenberry of Massachusetts and Robert Dusenberry of Florida; four step-children: Dena (Jon) Schneeberger of Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin, Jack Ramser of Davenport, Iowa, Joe Ramser of Clinton and Jason (Martie) Boerema of Chicago, Illinois; four grandchildren: Jesse Schneeberger of Camanche, Jeremy Ramser of Eldridge, Iowa, Chad Ramser of Camanche, and Tanner Jeffreyes of Clinton.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Donna, one brother, and his dog and faithful companion Sarge.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Camanche Food Pantry.
