Vera P. Dingmon, age 102 of Clinton died peacefully on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Mercy Living Center North. Services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 22nd at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com. Vera Pearl Dingmon was born on August 29, 1914, the daughter of Sylvanus and Bessie (Dornes) Shetler. She married Robert V. Dingmon on December 8, 1930. Vera and her husband operated grocery and meat markets in Charlotte, IA and Bettendorf, IA. After retirement they lived in Mt. Dora, FL for 25 years. Vera returned to Clinton in 2003. Vera belonged to several card clubs, playing 500 and Bridge. She always enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. Vera is survived by her son Terry (Florence) Dingmon of Clinton and her daughter Jeanine (Lee) McClure of Clinton; 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her son Dennis Dingmon, her daughter Mary Jo Shoemaker, and grandchildren Deborah Lind and Kevin Shoemaker. Memorials may be made to Mercy Living Center North in Clinton.
