David L. Hopkins, 82, of Clinton, passed away, Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the Alverno – Clinton.
A Memorial Service will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Clinton. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements.
David L. Hopkins was born December 3, 1933 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Wilfred and Erma (Dierksen) Hopkins. He served in the United States Army.
He worked for Dairy Pac in Davenport for many years and for Clausen Supply in Clinton. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clinton, enjoyed photography, fishing and bird watching. Dave was a loving father and grandfather with quite a sense of humor. He really loved taking walks and being outside.
Dave is survived by his three sons: Christopher (Joni Sullivan) Hopkins of Clinton, Russell (Dawn Dalton) Hopkins of Ormand Beach, Florida and Steven Huffman of Homestead, Florida; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one brother: Robert Hopkins of Florida; three nephews: Paul (Elizabeth) Hopkins of Clinton, Brian Hopkins of Pennsylvania and Patrick (Tracy) Hoffman of Clinton; three nieces Betsy (Scott) Smith of Clinton, Sandy Heath of Clinton and Peggy (Terry) Langholdt of Omaha, Nebraska; his special friends: Cindy Boekeloo and Rose Archer; and many more relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
