The Clinton Herald Tuesday August 19, 1980 p. 10 The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Schmitz Funeral Home for Marie C. Raun, 80, of 907 N. 2nd St., who died Monday in Mercy Hospital. She had been a teacher at Clinton High School for 42 years. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. The Rev. Lauren Ashley Smith will officiate. Visitation will be until 9 p.m. today. Pallbearers will be Melvin Sato, Frank Salleto, James Hamill, Peter and Milton Raun, and Jed Hildreth. Miss Raun was born Sept. 30, 1899, in Clinton, to Peter and Marie Sorensen Raun. She was a graduate of the University of Chicago and attended Northern Illinois University and the University of Denver. She was a social studies teacher at CHS from 1918 until her retirement in June 1960. She then taught at Mount St. Clare College for nine years. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include four sisters, Ingeborg Raun, Hansien Raun and Mrs. Stephen (Jeannette) Hamill, all of Clinton, and Mrs. Sigrid Micheel of Davenport. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
