Robert C. Sindelar, age 85 of De Witt, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at West Wing Place in DeWitt. Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held at the Rock Island Arsenal. Robert was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on December 27, 1930, the son of Albert and Mary (Carter) Sindelar. He served with the United States Navy from February 24, 1950 until May 19, 1954. Robert was an over the road truck driver with Allied Van Lines. Robert is survived by a son, Ed Sindelar; two daughters, Donna Sindelar and Sandy Young, all of Connecticut; his sister, Isobel “Sindy” McDonnell of DeWitt; a brother, Van (Shirley) Sindelar of Shakopee, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
