Mrs. Ida Leinbaugh, Walter's and Lafe's mother, 97, of Lost Nation, Iowa, passed away in her home on Wednesday, April 30th, 1958, after a lingering illness. Mrs. Leinbaugh was Lost Nation's eldest woman and a resident there most of her life.

Ida Adrian was born in Edwardsville, Ill., December 23, 1861, to August and Catherine Adrian. When a small child, she arrived in the Lost Nation community with her parents, where she has since lived. She married Adam Leinbaugh February 24, 1881, and they farmed near that place until about 40 years ago when the couple moved into town. She was a member of the Union church of Lost Nation.

Surviving are five sons, Louis of Lisbon, Walter of Clarence, Clarence of Lost Nation, Lafe of Clarence and Art of Lost Nation; four daughters, Mrs. Lottie Hamer of Bradenton, Florida, and Miss Iva, Mrs. LaVanche Wulf and Mrs. Lucille Wagner, all of Lost Nation; one sister, Mrs. Mathilda Roden of Elwood, 22 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren. Preceding her were her husband and one son.

At the time of her death she had reached the age of 96 years, 4 months and 7 days.

Prayer services were held at the Malamphy Funeral Home in Lost Nation at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 2nd followed by public services in the Union Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. Rev. Glass officiated.

Burial was made in the Lost Nation Cemetery.
