James E. Lind, 95, of Clinton, died Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Mercy North, Clinton. Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church, Clinton. Visitation will be held from 5-8:00PM, Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory where a Rose Croix service will be conducted at 8:00PM. Private burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, John Morrison, Daniel Morrison, Tyler Morehead, Travis Morehead, Matthew Lind and Joseph Lind. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters, Ann Morrison, Jessica Keller, Natalie Wada, Taylor Lind and Elizabeth Morehead.

Jim was born March 30, 1921 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of John and Flora (Lund) Lind. He was a Clinton High School graduate. Jim was a WWII, U.S. Army veteran. James married Elizabeth J. Tregear in Chicago on February 26, 1948; she died November 28, 1998.

He had been employed as a pipefitter at DuPont and had also plumbed homes for many years.

James was a member of the AMVETS, had been a longtime member of the Clinton Moose lodge, and was member of the Clinton Scottish Rite Masonic Bodies and Western Star Lodge 100 AF & AM.

Survivors include his daughters, Barbara (Jerry) Morrison of Roswell, GA; Jamie (John Lund) Struble of Roswell, GA and Jeri (Scott) Morehead of Clinton, IA; son, Jim (Renae) Lind of Belton, MO; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jane Elizabeth; son, John “Dee” Lind; parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Zion Lutheran Church.
