Albert Stanley, 90, of Clinton, passed away, Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Mercy Living Center – South.

Memorial Services will be held in June at the First United Presbyterian Church – Clinton.

Albert Stanley was born on August 14, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Edythe (Nelson) and William Stanley. He married Helen Lofgren on November 25, 1950 in Muscatine, Iowa; she died December 17, 2012.

Al graduated from Clinton High School in 1943, where he held a national swim record as an All American Swimmer. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1948 and from DeVry Technical Television School in Chicago, Illinois, in 1952.

Al served in the Naval Air Corp as a pilot during World War II, and retired as a conductor on the Chicago Northwestern Railroad after forty years. He also owned and operated Al’s TV Service in Clinton, Iowas for 20 years.

Al was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church- Clinton, the U.T.U., and the AMVETS.

Al was the father for four children: Dr. Christy Foley of Clinton, Iowa, Kathy Eschelbach of Manhattan, Kansas, Tom (Marta) Stanley of Holland, Michigan, and Tim Stanley of Clinton; six grandchildren: Ellie, Jessica, Kara, Brittany, Katie, and Eric, one great-granddaughter; Penny; and four sisters and two brothers: Diane, Lynn, Judy, Mary, Fred, and John.
