Lawrence “Bud” J. Murray, 85, of Camanche, passed away, Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the Alverno.

A Funeral Mass will be 1:00pm, Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Church of the Visitation – Camanche. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Taylor Murray, Jack Murray, Bill Campie, Michael Campie, Thomas Campie, and Andy Simmons. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00-6:30pm at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory.

Lawrence James Murray was born on January 17, 1931 in Buffalo, New York, the son of John and Virginia (Sievers) Murray. He married Ruth O’Donnell on June 21, 1952 in Buffalo, New York, she died October 12, 2005.

Bud was in management with AirCo Industries in Camanche, Clinton Corn Processing and with LaGrange Memorial Hospital – in LaGrange, Illinois.

Bud was a member of Church of the Visitation, the Clinton Moose Lodge, the Eagles Club, and the Clinton AMVETS. He enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, and telling a good joke.

Bud is survived by one daughter: Sandra (Steve) Campie of Camanche, three sons: James (Brenda) Murray of Clinton, Daniel (Janelle Lindeman) Murray of Clinton, and Craig (Denise) Murray of Naperville, Illinois; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and one sister: Ginger Murray of Buffalo, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, six brothers: Donald, Paul, John, Daniel, Roger and Fred Murray, and three sisters: Kathleen Schraft, Patricia McNulty, and Mary Eitel.
