Marian J. Laurent, 92, of Clinton, passed away, Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center – Clinton.

Graveside Services and burial will be 11:00 am, Friday, May 13, 2016 in the Rose Hill Cemetery – Camanche. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory.

Marian Josephine Shafer was born April 26, 1924 in Baldwin, Iowa, the daughter of William and Mae (Burkey) Shafer. She married Joseph Laurent on December 12, 1945. They celebrated 60 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on July 3, 2006.

Marian was a homemaker. She loved time spent at the cabin in Delhi, Iowa. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her son: Rick (Louise) Laurent of Clinton; five grandchildren: Lori (Bryan) Christopherson of Camanche, Andy Schuster of Delhi, Iowa, Megan Burger of Marion, Iowa, Lisa Morhardt of Clinton, and Lindsay (Jason) Totten of Clinton; and 11 great grandchildren: Cole, Cayden, McKenna, Blakely, Addison, Keegan, Blake, Dylan, Krayton, Madux, and Brayden.

In addition to her husband, Marian was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Margo, and granddaughter Andrea Tucker.
