Norma Jean Komrofske, 94, of Clinton, died Sunday, April 24th, 2016, at the Mercy Living Center South, Clinton. Private services will be held at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Norma Jean Archibald was born March 19, 1922 in Goodland, Kansas, the daughter of Gilbert and Cornelia (Thornton) Archibald. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1940. After high school, Norma worked at Schick Hospital as a switch board operator and met several entertainers/dignitaries who visited the injured soldiers. She particularly remembered meeting Lt. General James Doolittle. She married Maurice Allender in 1942; he was killed in Italy during WWII. She then married Truman MacKenzie in 1946, they divorced in 1980. She married Adolph Komrofske in 1982 and divorced in 2008. She came to live in Clinton, Iowa in March, 2011 to be close to family.

Norma spent several years as a nurse’s aide in Colorado, taking care of people in their homes. She had special artistic talents and shared many of her creations with family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Steven (Rosemary) MacKenzie of Ukiah, California along with several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Local family includes her nieces, Judy Brandenburg, Carol Glahn and Debbie Holstein and nephew Gary Holstein.

In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved daughter, Marsha.
