Richard L. “Dick” Asmus age 69 of Clinton, passed away Sunday May 15, 2016 at Mercy North Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday May 18th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday 9:30 AM until the service hour at the funeral home. Following the service, cremation rites will be accorded. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com. Dick was born on March 29, 1947 in Clinton, the son of Marvin and Peggy (Kelly) Asmus. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1966. He married Patricia Sorensen on Sept. 15, 1967 in Clinton. Dick worked at Waukesha Engines as a machinist for over 25 years and at Mercy Medical Center in maintenance for over 23 years. He loved his dog, Molly and the two cats, Mimi and Mittens. Dick is survived by his wife, Patricia Asmus of Clinton; two sons, Brian (Ann Martin) Asmus of Monmouth, IL and Kevin (Tracy) Asmus of Des Moines; five grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Judy) Asmus of Urbandale, IA and Ed (Mary Lou) Asmus of Clinton; and a sister, Janice Manning of McCook, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Raymond.
