Kathleen F. “Lynn” Schaley, age 70, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at her home following a long and courageous battle with MS. In following her wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 AM till 1:30 PM on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Pape Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 1:30 PM. A luncheon will follow at the Eagle Club. Lynn was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 26, 1946, the daughter of Dr. Louis and Muriel (Sames) Vogel. She graduated from high school in Cleveland and received her BA Degree in English from Loretto Heights College in Denver, CO in 1967. Lynn married John Fuller on April 15, 1967 in Cheyenne, WY. She later married Mike Schaley ( her best friend and soulmate) on May 27, 1977 in Clinton. Lynn had been a substitute teacher at Clinton High School and had taught at Clinton Community College. She later worked for Triple A, at Klines, and then as a reporter for many years at the Clinton Herald. She had run for the County Supervisor’s Office in the 1980’s and was a member of the Eagle’s Auxiliary. Lynn was an avid Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes and Iowa Hawkeyes fan and enjoyed reading, writing, traveling and bowling. Her bowling team "Coupe DeVille" was the city champions in the early 80's. Lynn is survived by her husband, Mike; three children, Bridget Fuller (Kevin Saiter of Clinton, Christy (Rich) Campie of Camanche and Dan Fuller of Low Moor; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Kyler, Eric, Landon and Mereck; a great granddaughter, Taylor; a brother, William “Bill” (Judy) Vogel of Euclid, OH; a step-sister, Jenni Roach of Cleveland and many nieces and nephews in and around Clinton and the Cleveland, Ohio area. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dr. Don Vogel.
