Ellen M. Damgaard age 74 of Camanche, passed away Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Alverno Health Care Facility. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be John, Ben, Mitchell, Ben and Jack Damgaard and Matt Blumer. Memorials may be made to the Clinton Humane Society. Ellen was born in Lakeview, Oregon on November 24, 1941, the daughter of John Ray and Ramona (Pierrot) Brewster. She married John Damgaard on December 4, 1959 in Clinton. John passed away on August 3, 2005. Ellen had worked out of her home as a seamstress. She had also been employed with GE in Morrison, Carlon and Walmart. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Ellen enjoyed sewing, crafts, baking and gardening. She had even tackled remodeling her home. Ellen is survived by three children; Bonnie Michaelsen (Matt Blumer) of Camanche, John (Kimberly) Damgaard of Victoria MN, and Ben (Jennifer) Damgaard of Camanche; five grandchildren, Ben, Mitchell, Jack, Lauren, and Lillie ; brothers and sisters; Kate (Michael) Johnsrud of Dubuque, Michele (Merle) Schreiber of Dubuque, Mike (Judy) Rucker, Jim Rucker, Ann Rucker-Eggers of Dubuque, and George (Diane) Brewster of Coeur D’Alene, ID and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters, Jacqueline Otto, Patricia Donovan and Linda Griebel; and three brothers, Dick Brewster, Larry Brewster and Lane Brewster, and an infant brother.
