Velora M. Hale, 94, of Clinton, passed away, Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Alverno.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30m to the service time Tuesday at the church. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Velora Marie Wilms was born on June 4, 1921 in Kimball, South Dakota, the daughter of Carl and Fredericka (Gerke) Wilms. She was a 1939 graduate of Maquoketa High School. She married John Hale on June 12, 1940 in Maquoketa, he died February 14, 2004.
Velora worked at Champion Packages as an inspector retiring in 1973. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Women of the Moose. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, and camping.
Velora is survived by her children: John Hale, Muscatine, Iowa, Shirley Kennedy of Clinton, Rick (Nancy) Hale of Clinton, Keith Hale of San Antonio, Texas, Randy (Jerilyn) Hale of Camanche 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 2 step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, two brothers, and her twin sister.
Memorials can be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the Clinton Moose Lodge.
