Frank H. McGrath, age 91 of Clinton, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Mercy Living Center South. A funeral service will take place at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 26th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 4-7 P.M. Friday, March 25th at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Clinton. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com. Memorials may be given to the Prince of Peace Parish or the Catholic Historical Center. Frank was born October 18, 1924, the son of Frank H. and Mable C. (Hammond) McGrath in Clinton. Frank married his sweetheart Lyda P. Oakfield on May 26, 1946 in Cedar Rapids, IA. He served in the United States Army as a medic during WWII. Frank was employed at E.I. DuPont for 33 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and the Clinton AMVETS. Frank loved camping with his family and loved to travel. He enjoyed many things in life but most of all spending time with his family. Frank was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed. Frank is survived by his wife, Lyda; two sons, James (Robin) McGrath of Parkersburg, WV and Danny (Geralyn) McGrath of Clinton; three grandchildren, Andy (Katie Player) McGrath, Darby McGrath, and Tracy (Travis) Smith; two step granddaughters, Jaime (Mike) Hilsenbeck and Jolinda (Pat) Burr; one great granddaughter, Amelia Smith; two step-great grandchildren, Kelsie and Kagen Hilsenbeck; and several nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George.
