Brian L. Vawter, age 53 of Camanche, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 at his home. In following Brian’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Pape Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 3:00 PM. Following the service a celebration of Brian’s life will continue at the Silver Dollar on Main Ave. Brian was born in Normal, Illinois on March 14, 1962, the son of Millard “Bud” and Frances (Robbins) Vawter. He was baptized at Edgewood Baptist Church in Rock Island. Brian graduated from Clinton High School. He was employed with Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 25, Rock Island and later with Ryan and Associates. Brian loved spending time with his grandson, Brysen. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing pool and hunting. Brian had been a member of the Clinton and Camanche Bowling Associations and had received recognition for 25 years of bowling in the National Tournament. Brian is survived by his daughter, Brianna Vawter of Camanche; a grandson, Brysen; his mother, Frances Vawter of Clinton; a sister, Rebecca (Mark) Huebbe of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Randy (Sondria) Vawter of Clinton, Michael (Sarah) Vawter of Clinton and Matthew (Carla) Vawter of Cedar Rapids and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
