Another Old Settler Called Home

William Henry Fritcher died Wednesday morning, January 12th, at five o'clock at his old home, it being also the home of his youngest son, Nathan Fritcher, and family, and located northwest of Toronto, in Clinton county. Deceased was a brother of Mrs. Clark Mowry. The old gentleman died at the age of seventy five years, seven months and twenty-three days of a paralytic stroke with which he was affected about five days before his demise. All of his surviving children were at his bedside namely his son, Nathan Fritcher, and his son, John Fritcher, of Mills county, Iowa, and also his daughters, Mrs. Del Cave and Miss Maggie Fritcher, of Perry, Iowa, and Mrs. George Syas, of Omaha, Neb.

Deceased has always been healthy, hale, hardy, robust; but during the past year or so his health was on the decline, however he was never severely sick, not until paralysis took violently hold of him, and quickly brought the end. Death, years ago, brought sorrow into the Fritcher home frequently. Mr. Fritcher was thrice widower, his third wife died fifteen or more years ago, and several of his children also preceded their father to the better world. There survive him besides his two sons and three daughters named, twenty three grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, one brother, and three sisters, and a great many other near relatives to mourn his departure.

For half a century or more deceased has resided near Toronto. During the past thirty years we saw him frequently, as he did a great deal of his business at Lowden. We knew him personally during the last stated term of years. He was an honest, true old soul, always friendly and pleasant. If all people were as good as "old man" Fritcher the world would certainly be a great deal better.

Funeral will be held today with interment in the Massillon cemetery. May he rest in peace.
