24 January 1908 Lowden News

John Henry Frahm was born in Schleswig, Holstein, Germany, and he died at his home near Lost Nation, on Thursday, January 16th, at the age of 75 years, 9 months and 28 days.

Mr. Frahm, who was the father of Mrs. Albert Henke of Lowden, came with his family to America twenty-seven years ago, and he and wife have resided near Lost Nation for quite a while. The worthy couple were married fifty-one years ago on January 9th, and celebrated their golden wedding last year. Four days before his demise Mr. Frahm suffered a paralytic stroke, not however for the first time; the first stroke he had five years ago, and a few others followed, finally bringing the end, closing a long and useful life. His faithful life companion, who is seventy-three years of age, survives with their three daughters, one son and eighteen grandchildren to mourn Mr. Frahm's demise.

Funeral was held Sunday with services at the Lutheran church at Lost Nation and interment at the Lost Nation cemetery. Rev. Osthoff officiated.

Mr. Frahm came occasionally to Lowden to visit at Henkes', and we met him here from time to time finding him to b a very pleasant old gentleman. Peace be with his ashes.
