Susan Kay Worrick, 64, of DeWitt, died early Monday afternoon, February 8, 2016 at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport.

She was born July 12, 1951, in Webster City to Tom and Donna (Davis) Holkan. She attended school in Webster City and was a 1969 graduate of Eagle Grove High School. On March 8, 1969, Sue married Robert Worrick in Webster City. The couple resided in many different parts of the world while Robert served in the United States Army. Sue especially enjoyed the years they resided in Okinawa, Japan. They eventually settled in DeWitt, raising their family. Sue also worked for many years in the retail and service industries. Robert preceded Sue in death on November 24, 1995.

Earlier in her life, she was a rodeo princess and competed nationally in Barrel Racing. Sue enjoyed crafts and watching movies and was a Cub and Girl Scout Leader for many years. She loved all children, especially her grandchildren. If you were in her home, you were treated as family. Sue had a fondness for barns and rural rustic settings.

Surviving are children and their spouses, Frank and Deb Worrick and Tressa and Royle Cheel all of DeWitt; grandchildren, Nicole Worrick, Shayla Hippler, Brook Worrick, Brandon Cheel and Roban Worrick; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Aliviah, Payton, Jase and Averee; mother and step-father, Donna and Don Williams of DeWitt; brothers, Tom Holkan, Jr., Patrick (Mary) Holkan and John (Nancy) Holkan; a sister, Tammy Severs; nieces and nephews.

Preceding Sue in death in addition to her husband were her father and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 11th. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery.
