Mildred M. Martens, age 93 of Wheatland, passed away on Wednesday January 20, 2016 at Genesis Medical Center in DeWitt. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Mildred was born on December 5, 1922 to Fred and Ruth (Welty) Horstmann in Toronto, Iowa. She married Ralph Martens on August 14, 1949 at St. Paul's UCC in Wheatland.

Mildred enjoyed flowers, gardening, and loved to read.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph; daughter, Lisa Baker; and 5 grandchildren, Danielle, Tanner, Chase, Chelsie, and Natalie.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ken.
