Pearl A. (Rickertsen) Cooper, 102, of Clinton, passed away, December 28, 2015 at the Alverno – Clinton.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church – Clinton. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jarod Dennis, Don McDonnell, John Loots, Derek Determan, David Paulsen, and Robert Dennis. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting her obituary at www.snellzornig.com.

Pearl Anna Rickertsen was born February 26, 1913 in Charlotte, Iowa, the daughter of Martin and Emma (Bielenberg) Rickertsen. She married Gilbert Cooper on September 4, 1934. He passed away on December 20, 1968.

In her younger years Pearl worked for Dr. Sugg as a cook and house keeper and in the Vegetable Garden at Burpee. She worked many years for Jane Lamb in food service.

Pearl was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church Missouri Synod from the beginning when the church started during the 1950’s. She was an active member of the Ladies Aid and the Alter Guild. She volunteer her time as a Brownie Troop Leader and a Sunday School Teacher. She taught Sunday School for over 20 years.

Pearl is survived by her daughter, Judith (Robert) Dennis of Clinton; two grandchildren: Lynn Marie (Don) McDonnell of Eldridge, Iowa and Jarod Robert Dennis of Davenport, Iowa; two great grandchildren: Payton Scarlett McDonnell and Shay Judith McDonnell; and many nieces and nephews.

Having lived 102 years, Pearl saw almost all of her family go on to heaven before her. She was the oldest of seven children. In addition to her husband Gilbert, she was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings: Vera Rickertsen Paulsen, Vernon Rickertsen, Edna Rickertsen Knutsen, Orville Rickertsen, Norman Rickertsen, and infant Alfred Rickertsen.

Memorials may be made to the Ladies Aid at Trinity Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
