Virginia (Ginny) Lee Barnes, 88, of Clinton entered into eternal peace on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Mercy Living Center – North.

Virginia was born on September 17, 1927, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Lee and Fae Simmons. Virginia moved to Clinton, Iowa, in 1941 and graduated from Clinton High School in 1945. At the age of 14 years, Virginia began working at the Clinton Theater and was employed there for 7 years. Her later employment included Executive Secretary at Pillsbury in Clinton. In addition Virginia worked for the Clinton Development Corporation, Fidelity Life, Lord Baltimore Press/International Paper Company.

Virginia married Mark E. Barnes in 1948 in Chicago, Illinois, who preceded her in death in 2008. Virginia had a full life. She enjoyed working and her friendships immensely. She and Mark loved to entertain and did so often during their almost 60 years of marriage. Her passion was dancing, singing, laughing and just making people happy.
