Lester B. Shadle, 78, of Camanche passed away, October 5, 2015 at his home in Camanche.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Friday, October 9, 2015 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be George Andresen, Roger Campie, Lyndon Andresen, Landis Andresen, Derek Hoenig, Jimmy James, Duane Campie, Tammy Campie, Richard Block, Felipe Gonzalez and Ray Skelton. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home.

Lester Benjamin Shadle was born on September 5, 1937 in Clinton, the son of Elmer and Frances (Smith) Shadle. He moved to Camanche at 6 months old and lived there the rest of his life. He married Carol Block on June 15, 1957 in Clinton.

He worked at ALCOA for 43 years retiring in 1999. He loved his family dearly. He enjoyed woodworking and working in the yard. He volunteered at Rose Hill Cemetery and served on the cemetery board. He always enjoyed his coffee breaks with the guys at the cemetery. He served on the Camanche Police Reserves. He also enjoyed doing puzzles. He loved having coffee on Tuesdays and Saturdays with George Andresen.

He is survived by his wife: Carol of Camanche; three daughters: Gina Andresen of Clinton, Tammy (Duane) Campie of Camanche and Kimberly Hoenig of Camanche; six grandchildren: Lyndon Andresen, Landis (Kayla) Andresen, Lenee Andresen, Roger Campie, Sara (Ray) Skelton, and Derek (Heather) Hoenig; seven great-grandchildren: Ashilyne, Macy, and Seth Andresen, Emma Campie, Blake & Karson Hoenig, and Delilah Edwards, and his beloved dog: Angel Ann. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son: Roger, three brothers: Elmer, Everett, and Dale “Jake”, four sisters: Geraldine, Ruth, Marilyn, and Beverly; a son-in-law: Lyle Andresen, and his mother and father-in-law: Raymond and Virginia Block.
