Sandra Kay Orte, 70, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, October 2, 2015 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Clinton. Visitation will be held from 3 PM to 7 PM, Thursday October 1, 2015 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews; honorary pallbearers will be her nieces.

Sandra was born May 16, 1945 in Clinton, the daughter of Raymond and Generose (Weick) Moore. She was a Clinton High graduate and received her massage therapy degree from the Davenport Institute of Massage Therapy. Sandra married Douglas Orte in 1967 in Clinton.

She was employed with the Alverno Health Care Facility for more than 29 years in various capacities, her last position as a licensed massage therapist and healing touch.

Sandra was a member of Prince of Peace. She loved and was very proud of her family. Sandra enjoyed reading, shopping, water aerobics, diet Pepsi and she loved her grand dogs.

She is survived by her son, Stephen (Sherry) Orte of Clinton; daughter, Stasia (Joshua) Cullinan of Clinton, granddaughter, Stephenie Generose Orte of Iowa City; siblings, Donna (Dave) Dawson of Camanche; Barbara (Tom) Montgomery of Peoria, IL; Raymond Moore of Clinton and Mary Ries of Clinton and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made to the family for a charity of their choice.
