DuWayne E. Ottens, Sr. age 70 of Clinton, passed away Friday, December 11, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family following a long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 16th at the First Baptist Church in Clinton. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Pape Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elvira Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Kevin, Matt, and Adam Cain, Steve Bice, Rich Schaley, and Mark Jacobsen.

DuWayne was born in Morrison on August 14, 1945, the son of Gerald and Margaret (Vos) Ottens. He married Cindy Shields Bice on February 9, 1990 in Clinton. DuWayne worked retail for several years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. DuWayne enjoyed horseback riding with family and friends, playing marble games, cooking, and listening to the scanner when his boys were working.

DuWayne is survived by his wife Cindy; four children, DuWayne (Kathy) Ottens of Clinton, Dean Ottens of Clinton, Becky (Bryan) Buhman of Bettendorf, and Brian Shields of Albany; eight grandchildren; a sister, Beverly Swanson of Morrison, a brother, David Ottens of Morrison, and his father and mother-in-law, Merle “Pat” and Helen Bice of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister-in-law, Sharon Ottens; and a nephew, Brian Ottens. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
