Velma G. Voss, age 95, of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the Alverno Health Care Facility, 10 days short of her 96th birthday. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday Nov. 2nd at Prince of Peace Parish. Visitation will be held Monday 10:00 AM until the service hour at the church. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Burial will be at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com

Velma was born on Nov. 7, 1919 in Lyons, IA, the daughter of Henry and Josephine (Klaes) Andresen. She attended and graduated from Welton Community Schools and attended UCLA. She married Leroy Voss on Oct. 19, 1946 in Cedar Rapids, IA; he died in 1979. She worked for Pacific Telesis and AT&T for over 31 years, where she retired as a supervisor. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge, Clinton Women’s Club, Mercy Auxiliary, AMVETS Auxiliary, Odd Fellows, VFW Auxiliary, and the Communications Workers of America, where she was president of the local union. She enjoyed traveling; especially going to Europe and the Orient, and was a collector of oriental artifacts, and playing cards.

Velma is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her step brothers and sisters.
