Jesse W. “Bill” Kasterke age 90 of Clinton, passed away Tuesday Nov. 10, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. According to his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday Nov. 13th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday 3 – 6 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be given to Camp Courageous in Monticello, IA. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com

Bill was born on Sept. 2, 1925 in Cherokee, OK, the son of William and Stella (Arnold) Kasterke. He was a veteran of the US Navy from 1943-1946. He married Laura Pence on Dec. 29, 1945 in Ft. Madison, IA. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad in Ft. Madison, IA and for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad in Clinton, where he retired in 1986. Bill was a member of the Clinton AMVETS, Eagles Club, American Legion, Moose Lodge, and the N.A.R.V.E., Clinton County Historical Society. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and woodworking.

Bill is survived by his wife, Laura of Clinton; a son, Byron (Judy) Kasterke of Clinton; daughter-in-law, Patricia Kasterke of Clinton; four grandchildren, Dale, Michelle, Zachary, and Kindsey; five great grandchildren, Andrew, Michael, Alex, Nolan, and Abbey; and two great-great grandchildren, Cadence and Eli. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Steven, and a brother.
