Jocilla "Jocy" Johannsen, 69, of DeWitt, died in her home Wednesday December 16, 2015.

Jocy was born October 23, 1946, to Fred and Jeannie (Turnquist) Holst. She married Dick R. Johannsen May 22, 1965. The couple raised their family at rural DeWitt. Jocy worked at Car Freshener in DeWitt for many years and retired in January of this year. Her husband preceded her in death on October 28, 2001.

She enjoyed watching her daughters and granddaughters show their horses. Jocy kept busy gardening and caring for her llamas, cats, and dogs.

Surviving are her daughters, Lisa (Patrick) McGarry of Bryant and Melissa Richards of DeWitt; grandchildren, Crystal and Morgan McGarry, and Bryce Richards.

In addition to her husband, Jocy was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. Saturday, December 19th. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.
