Mrs. John (Rose) Sterk, 95, of Baldwin, died Monday in the Maquoketa Care Center .

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lost Nation, with the Rev. John Kramer officating. Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Cemetery, Baldwin. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Haylock, O'Hara and Kedley Funeral Home, Maquoketa. A rosery will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sterk was born March 1, 1889, in rural Baldwin, to Matthew and Mary Rosich Gregorich. She married John Sterk, Feb. 10, 1915, in Baldwin. She farmed most of her life in the Baldwin area with her husband. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Baldwin, and taught in the Jackson County Schools for many years.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Bernard of Lost Nation and Walter of Wyoming; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son.
