Randall S. Dickey Sr., 97, of Charlotte, died Saturday at Mercy North Hospital. A private family service will be held at Lemke Funeral Home North, 2304 N. Second Street. The Rev. John Stack will be officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jay VanSlingerlandt, Cory, Jesse and Justin Meggers and Steve and Cole Dickey.
He was born April 20, 1907, to John and Mabel Borden Dickey. He married Ruby Beeby in the 1930's. She preceded him in death.
He owned and operated family farms in Charlotte.
Survivors include a son, Randall (Mary) Dickey Jr. of Charlotte; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ella Manley of Clinton, Mary Goodale of DeWitt, Sarena Weyenth of Roanoke, Ill., and Elizabeth Kettler of Sarasota, Fla.; a brother, John Dickey Sr. of Fulton, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two sisters and one brother.
