David Gregory “Bart” Bartley, 67, of DeWitt, formerly of Peoria, Illinois, passed away Tuesday evening, December 2, 2014, at Genesis Medical Center-DeWitt.

He was born May 26, 1947, in Peoria to Joseph F., Jr. and Rosemary (Feil) Bartley. David was a graduate of Spalding Institute and Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. He worked in the accounting field and later went on to work as a night manager at DeWitt Travel Mart until retiring two years ago.

He is survived by his mother of Peoria; a son, Paul of Iowa; brothers, Joseph Bartley and Michael (Mary Lou) Bartley both of Peoria, and Stephen (Lisa) Bartley of Franklin, Tennessee; sisters, Katherine (Neil Lewis) Bartley of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, and Julie (Kyle) Davidson of Simpsonville, South Carolina; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and a son, Thomas.

The family will receive friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2014 and at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, Peoria from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2014, with recitation of the Rosary at 7:45 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at St. Philomena Catholic Church, Peoria with the Rev. Fr. David Richardson officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, West Peoria.

Memorials may be made to DeWitt Fire Department, St. Joseph Parish, DeWitt, or St. Philomena Parish in Peoria.
