Edward “Fuzz” D. Stone, 76, of rural Camanche, died Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics – Iowa City, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Shaffton Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ron Carber, Marc Seibel, Richard Carber, Jr., Bob Card, Ryan Waltz, and Leroy Langrehe. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Richard Carber, Sr., Craig Lorenzen, Dale Sharp, and Ron Fisher. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00-8:00pm the funeral home.
Edward Dale Stone was born on May 23, 1938 in Clinton the son of Dale and Darline (Mowat) Stone. He attended schools in DeWitt.
Ed served in the Iowa National Guard.
Ed married Sharen Houser on June 25, 1960 in Low Moor.
Ed owned and operated S&K Trucking since starting it in 1982 until retiring in 2008. He was also an operating engineer with Local #150 from 1962-1982.
Ed was a member of the Clinton Moose Lodge #363 . He enjoyed spending time on his houseboat on the Mississippi and with his new Labradoodle puppy.
Ed is survived by his wife: Sharen of rural Camanche; two sons: Jay Stone and Lance Stone of rural Camanche; four granddaughters: Christina Stone, Adrian (James) Eggers, Aarika Stone, and Lakin Stone; and two great-grandchildren: Nolan and Kassidy Eggers; and his brother Dean (Ann) Stone of Van, Texas.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and his daughter-in-law: Denise.
