The Clinton Herald Saturday January 9, 1965 p. 5 Leo E. Welsh, 49, of Route 3, DeWitt, was found dead late Friday afternoon in a field on a neighbor's farm. He dropped dead shortly before while chasing stray livestock. Dr. J.J. Young, Clinton County medical examiner, said Mr. Welsh died of natural causes. The requiem mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Anns' Catholic Church at Welton, with the Rev. John Schmitz officiating. Burial will be in Imaculate Conception cemetery at Petersville. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday in the Hanrahan funeral home, DeWitt. The parish rosary will be recited there at 8 p.m. Monday. Leo Edward Welsh was born July 1, 1915 to Richard and Estella McDonald Welsh of DeWitt and had operated the Welsh family farm. He married Dorothy Lasack of Lost Nation, April 25, 1947. Survivors are his wife; six children, Shriley ann, Stephen, Susan, Estella, Barbara and Michael, all at home, and four sisters, Mrs. Alice Burke and Mrs. Eva Wenzlick, both of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Leo Connell of DeWitt and Miss Geraldine Welsh of Las Vegas, Nev. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
