Clinton Herald Thursday November 22, 1984 p. 14 The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Clinton chapel of Snell-Zorning Funeral Home, Clinton, for Dorothy "Doe" McGoven, 69, 1800 S. 6th St., while visiting her daughter. Rev. E.Leo Willhite of the Community Congregational Church will officiate. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Pallbearers will be Ray Moore, Eugene L. Stevenson, Bruce Abbott, Alfred Lewis Jr., Robert Walker Sr., and Bernard King. Mrs. McGovern was born June 18, 1915, in Clinton, the daughter of William A. and Hazel Moore Striley. She was married to Jack "Terry" McGovern May 5, 1940 in Clinton. He died in 1978. She worked for many years in the meat department at the Eagle Supermarket and was a member of the YWCA card club and the Izaak Walton League. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce McGovern of Glendale Heights, Ill.; two sons, John W. McGovern of Hilo, Hawaii, and Douglas A. McGovern of Spakane, Wash.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, William Striley of Clinton. She was preceded in death by one sister, her parents, and husband.
