Lydia M. Kinney, 99, of Clinton, passed away, Monday, October 13, 2014 at Willow Gardens Care Center - Marion, Iowa.

A Funeral Mass will be 10:30am, Friday, October 17, 2014 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, in Clinton, IA. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting her obituary at www.snellzornig.com.

Lydia Mary Steines was born on December 23, 1914 in Preston, Iowa, the daughter of John and Mary (Zeimet) Steines. She attended Preston schools. She married Anthony Kinney on October 22, 1935 in Preston, he died November 1990.

Lydia was employed at Collis for 25 years retiring in 1976.

Lydia was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, and the American Legion Auxiliary in Spragueville. She loved music, especially singing and playing her harmonica and accordion.

Lydia is survived by her children: Mary Ellen Martin of Loyal, Wisconsin, Geneva “Jenny” Jansen of Calamus, Iowa, Loran Kinney of Apache Junction, Arizona, and John (Tonan) Kinney of Marion, Iowa; 21 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, her brother: Odilo Steines of Cuba City, Wisconsin, and many nieces and nephews.

Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Veronica (Vera), and her son, William (Billy).
