After growing up on a farm with five brothers, one being his twin, and graduating from Villa Grove High School, he was in the US Navy from 1942 to 1946. He completed flight school in Pensacola, Florida and served as an aviation mechanic, which led to a love of flying and a lifelong interest in aviation. He was also a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus Council #707 and a charter member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Assembly #3444, Msgr. Leo Feeney.

Bill worked as a pipefitter and spent the last 25 years of his career as a construction superintendent for Allen Co. of Tuscola, Illinois.

Bill is survived by his son, Larry Reinhart of Ottumwa, IA; daughters, Patty Reinhart and Kathy (Mike) Yackshaw both of Clinton and Jeanie (Bill) Hull of Missoula, MT; his only grandchild, Anna Yackshaw of Dubuque, IA; and brother, Robert Reinhart of Tuscola, IL.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, his parents and four of his brothers.

Memorials may be made to Anna Yackshaw, toward her aviation degree, to help fulfill her dream of a career as a pilot.
