Harold D. Goers, 87, of Clinton, passed away, Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus, Davenport.

Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Friday, October 10, 2014 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post #28. Serving as pallbearers will be Curt Vath, Gary Vath, Bruce Buntemeyer, Scott Goers, Dennis Rupert, and Justin Goers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tony Vath, Jeff Vath, Brian Rupert, Jimmy Rupert, Johnny Rupert, and Kevin Rupert. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting his obituary at www.snellzornig.com.

Harold Duane Goers was born on November 29, 1926 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Ernest and Nina (Lund) Goers. He was a 1945 graduate of Clinton High School.

Harold was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. He married Doris Lauritsen on June 24, 1950 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church - Clinton; she died December 18, 2008.

Harold was employed with Clinton Corn Processing for 35 years and then with the Clinton Community School District as a custodian for 10 years.

Harold was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church where he enjoyed the monthly men’s breakfasts, was an avid Chicago Cub, Chicago Bear, and Iowa Hawkeye fan. He enjoyed sitting on his porch and watching the traffic and people go by his house.

Harold is survived by his son: David (Lynn) Goers of Morton, Illinois; his daughter: Denise Sievers (Phil Force) of Bettendorf, Iowa; two grandchildren: Justin (Beth) Goers and Megan (Brad) Bomer; a great-grandson: Samuel Goers; and his brother: Richard (Carole) Goers of Swansea, Illinois.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two brothers: Lyle and Howard.

Memorials may be made to Saint Paul Lutheran Church.
