Dionne P. Kaczinski age 77 of Clinton, passed away Thursday Oct. 16, 2014 at the Alverno Health Care Facility. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday Oct. 21st at First United Methodist Church, Clinton. Visitation will be held Monday 4 – 7 PM at the Pape Funeral Home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Dan and Doug Wagemester, Paul Krogman, Pat Clemence, Michael Kroymann, and Ron Gossard. Memorials may be given to the Alverno or First United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.

Dionne was born on May 15, 1937 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Ross and Lucille (Ashcraft) Sampson. She graduated from Central High School in Sioux City. She married Eugene Kaczinski on Sept. 21, 1957 in Sioux City, IA; he died in 1996. She worked as a legal secretary at the Hutchinson-Hurst-Duggan Law Firm in Sioux City, IA and the Paul Pfeiffer Law Firm in Clinton. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Clinton, the Riverboat Rustlers Square Dance Club in Eldridge, IA, and volunteered at Mercy Medical Center in the gift shop. She enjoyed crocheting, cross stitch, card making, and crafts. She loved pansies and hummingbirds.

Dionne is survived by her three sons, Joel (Cynthia) Kaczinski of Clinton, Jeffrey (Kayne) Kaczinski of Davenport, IA, and Jason (Molly) Kaczinski of Clinton; six grandchildren, Jacob, Caleb, Rachel, Megan, Sophia, and Max; her fiancée, Duane Geronzin of Clinton; and a sister, Marlyn (Annar) Pettersen of Vermillion, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her grandmother, Phrilda Ashcraft, who had raised her as a child. The family would like to thank Prairie Hills and the Alverno Health Care Facility for their kindness and support in caring for our mother.
