Clara Simmons age 87 of Clinton passed away Sunday Oct. 5, 2014 at Mercy Living Center South, Clinton. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday 11:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Preston Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Terry Raab, Troy Weltzin, David Hicks, Brett Cram, Gavin Trude, and Justen Rolston. Online condolences may be left with Pape Funeral home at www.papefh.com.

Clara was born on Aug. 28, 1927 in Hartville, MO, the daughter of William and Sara (Trusty) Walls. She married Sophus Hicks on Oct. 30, 1945 in Mountain Grove, MO. She later married Donald Simmons on Jan. 1, 1964 in Fulton, IL, he died in 1994. She was a homemaker and had worked at International Paper and Collis Company. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Clara is survived by her daughter, Teresa Cram of Galesburg, IL; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald, a son, Richard L. Hicks, a great-great granddaughter, two brothers, and three sisters.
