Catherine E. Lynch, 85, a resident of Indian River Shores, Vero Beach, died March 12, 1992, at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. Mrs. Lynch was born in Clinton, Iowa, moving to Vero Beach 16 years ago, with former residences in Beverly Farms, Massachusetts, and Fayetteville, New York. Catherine was the wife of Edward J. Lynch, who preceded her in death in 1979 after 46 years of marriage. A communicant of Hold Cross Church, she was a member of the Women's Guild Auxiliary and a patron of the Center for the Performing Arts, and a member of the Vero Beach Country Club. Cathy was a joy to all who knew her, exemplified by the love and devotion of all her grandchildren. Surviving are two sons, E. Joseph and wife Ann of Ankeny, Iowa, and Stephen A. and wife Susan of Pittsburgh, PA; a daughter, Karen Shanahan of Indian River Shores; 12 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a sister, Marian Mallary Verboom of Fort Lauderdale; several nieces and nephews; and many family members and friends. Friends may call Sunday, Marhc 15, 1992, from 6-8 p.m. at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday at 10 a.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach.
